Synopsis (Goodreads)
After decades of hiding, the evil Enchantress who cursed Sleeping Beauty is back with a vengeance.

Alex and Conner Bailey have not been back to the magical Land of Stories since their adventures in The Wishing Spell ended. But one night, they learn the famed Enchantress has kidnapped their mother! Against the will of their grandmother, the twins must find their own way into the Land of Stories to rescue their mother and save the fairy tale world from the greatest threat it’s ever faced.

When comparing ‘The Wishing Spell’ and ‘The Enchantress Returns’ it is easy to see how greatly Colfer’s writing has matured through his storytelling. I was completely captivated with the Bailey twins’ journey through the fairytale lands that many of us grew up reading about.

The way that Chris is able to weave his words into something like this proves just how much of a storyteller he truly is.

There was a long time gap between my readings of TWS and TER but I found myself slipping so easily back into the fantastical world that is The Land of Stories. I was welcomed back with open arms by dear old friends.

I found myself sobbing my way through the last few chapters, not wanting it to end. So I raise my glass to you Mr Colfer, and thank you for one hell of an amazing journey.
